  1. Jefferson and the others mention were extremely distrusting of the government, so much so that TJ felt that a little rebellion against the government was a good thing. Big government corrupts and people must have guns to protect themselves from a government that will naturally try to grow

  3. i think the people have an obligation to keep their government in check. With all the power they already have, the people should be allowed to control it overall.

  5. The men didn't have any faith or trust in the government or any form of government. They believed that rebellions, and uprisings were unavoidable, and expected the people to protect their own rights and stand up to the government when their rights are threatened or violated.

The quote is saying that the government cannot have too much power and it's up to the people to make sure that the government stays in line. When there's a law that people do not agree on, they must take action and use their rights to assure that laws leading to corruption or too much power in the branch of government are not passed. It's saying that the people, as members of the United States, have a fair opinion in the way the country should run.

  7. Thomas Jefferson is stating that citizens of the United States should be admitted to bear arms, for he feels that the government cannot be trusted entirely being the only ones supplied; therefore, he is showing his distrust for his government. He feels that one should, at all times, have the ability to protect themselves, even if it is from the ones who are suppose to be protecting them from harm.
