ReplyDeleteI think the fact that Plank came up with something original had a lot to do with him becoming successful. He made a product that made athletes perform better on the field. He made multiple shirts that did different things. If his product it good enough, then there is no reason why it should not get really popular.

The article is interesting because it showed the first moments, when his business ideas starting to progress. It's an example of anticipatory socialization in the sense that as a child, he attempted to sell products then grows up to become a very successful entrepreneur. His story is very inspiring, how he put two of his favorite things together and became a billionaire.
I think Kevin Plank is an excellent business man, by saying that he does have winter gear and he does have long sleeved versions he's supplying the people demands. It's interesting to think about how someone can change their entire life and the country just by making one single product.
ReplyDeleteI think what made Kevin Plank successful was that he never gave up. He worked at his grandmother's house. Also, he went in a lot of debt and still did not give up. He was $40,000 in debt and was going to his mom for food and he still did not give up. His love and passion for business inspired him as a teen to sell shirts and make money. This led to his huge success as an entrepreneur in his adult years.- Racha Mouawad
ReplyDeletei think that kevin plank had a great idea and great determination to make himself into a successful business man. i think his determination and his open-mindedness is what really helped him become so successful. He also gave the customer what they wanted even if he hadn't already made it, he would go to the contractor and create one.

He put all his money and savings into the creation of a business that could've bombed out just as easily as it succeeded. He had a 50/50 chance of becoming rich or ending up on the streets. Lucky for him, people actually wanted his shirts.
ReplyDeletewow. If he didn't play football, I wonder if he would have ever came up with the idea. He was smart in the way that when they asked a question, he said yes and then went to see how to make that happen. if he stopped playing football and sat at a desk and thought like he said, he wouldn't of had those connections that made his business expand. He did go in to debt but it was worth it in the end. He started that a while ago and people are still using under armor now. My cousin loves it and wears it for all his games. He made a great company like he wanted to.

ReplyDeleteI give Kevin Plank props. He came up with his own little idea of clothes to wear in the winter. He started out what was what he knew it as a small business. This small businnes ended up becoming a large entrepreneurship. He never gave up and ended up being very successful.
The fact that Plank was constantly thinking about what to do next and finding it hard to stop is what carried him the length he went. When risking all your money into a company that could tank or succeed takes on big risk. It rarely works out for those who try but Plank had the endurance that is only known to few. Just like it is reflected in his quality product-Under armor.

ReplyDeletePlank is very sucessful because even when he was 40000 in debt he didnt stop trying and he made a product people wanted. So he became extremely sucessful because he took his small business to the second best company on the 500 list.
Kevin Plank is a the definition of a good buisness man. Even though he did not have the products the people were asking for, he told them that he had them. He gave the people what they wanted no matter what. His ideas were original and different from any other products. Just by putting two things he loved together he became a billionaire.

When he started his Under Armour business, he only had 20 grand in his bank, and he end up being in debt before he began to make a lot of money.
